Specific Public Events

Our next Visitor Night is coming up Tuesday, March 22nd at 7pm as part of our Outreach Week. The event is for anyone who wants to learn about Explorations Academy. It will feature a presentation about how Explorations Academy addresses the need for a 21st Century education. Please join us to see our facility, meet some staff, and learn about our unique approach to education!

Join us for an entertaining and intellectually stimulating event. Students demonstrate a synthesis of their learning over the past term.

Tree Planting (Meet at Explorations Academy, from Dec 21, 2010 09:00 AM to Dec 21, 2010 01:30 PM)

This is a step toward making sure that our Cuba expedition is carbon-neutral. We are partnering with the Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association on this important work day. Our hope is to plant a sufficient number of trees to offset the carbon produced by our flights to and from the island nation we are studying. Thus, sustainability will not just be a topic to study, but a discipline we are practicing.

Explorations students will do your dirty work for you! Raking, sweeping, cutting, building, cleaning, hauling, dragging, lifting: you name it, and our teams will do it. Or... is there a community improvement project (litter pickup, graffiti removal, etc.) you'd like to see done? Your donation plus one of our teams can make things happen! Blisterama! is a key fundraiser for the school. Contact our office at 671-8085 if you want to hire a team.

Sucia Field Outing (from Apr 18, 2011 12:00 AM to Apr 22, 2011 12:00 PM)

Field outings are central to our educational program. Outings are several days long with the spring outing lasting five days. Sucia Island in the San Juans presents students with incredible opportunities to study a geologically unique marine environment as well as learn outdoor skills and conduct field research.

Spring Dinner and Auction - Formerly Folklike (The Majestic on State Street, from May 07, 2011 05:30 PM to May 07, 2011 09:00 PM)

Ready, set, go! This annual event is a huge fundraiser for Explorations and a well-known event for our school.

Orientation Potluck (Explorations Academy, from Jan 05, 2011 05:30 PM to Jan 05, 2011 08:00 PM)

Families get to know each other in an informal Explorations potluck. New families and their students are welcomed into our community. The event is preceded by an orientation day with a service project for students.

A not-to-be-missed event! It's not just a proper send-off for our seniors, but a chance for them to synthesize and present what they've learned at Explorations.
